They are a far better alternative than pliers when it comes to forming key levers, or many other metal links or levers in al kinds of typewriters.
Pictured is one of the tools in use to form the end of a key lever on a Royal Portable to adjust the ribbon lift and escapement trip. I needed to have these tools made to form the escapement trip on an Erika. Pliers weren't able to grab the links, and with these formers, it was a 1 minute job!
I found that I used these way more than I expected, and am very happy with the final product.
These tools are laser cut out of 5mm thick 304 stainless steel.
